One of the things I want to experiment with is texture-less models, wher eall the colour detail is actually modeled into the polygons and changed by colour.
I decided to try this on the jacket detail of the Chroma character I am modelling.
I first created a model of the pattern so that I can use it to cut into the jacket of the character.
I used the boolean function on Maya to create the cut.
Which I cleaned up manually.
Nice clean details and no loss of resolution.
